Character
Finish and maps
Bake colour, normal, curvature, thickness and AO maps, fill skin gaps and open the character in the editor.
Finish bakes the materials. Nothing bakes by itself, so press the buttons when your Fit and Rig are done.
The Maps card
| Family | Maps |
|---|---|
| Textures | Colour, roughness, metallic, opacity |
| Detail | Normal, curvature, thickness, AO |
| Button | Bakes |
|---|---|
| Bake all | Both families |
| Bake textures | Textures only |
| Bake detail | Detail only |
Each family shows a status: Not baked, Out of date, Baking, Done or Failed. If you change Fit, a family shows Out of date. Bake it again.
Skin fill
Some skin areas have no trustworthy scan colour: armpits, finger webs, soles, behind the ears, and places where clothing was cleaned away. Finish fills them from the surrounding skin. Underwear printed on a watertight scan can also be detected and removed.
Finish a character
- Open the Finish stage.
- Press Bake all and wait for Done.
- Press Open in editor.
After Finish
- Change the skin in Character mode. Skin edits are recomposited from your bake.
- The Target sets map sizes: Hero 2048 px, NPC 1024 px, Mobile 512 px. You can override the size under Export > Customize > Mesh & textures. See Other formats and Targets.
