Remesh
Rebuild a model as clean quads when its topology is too messy to rig or fit. It is optional and always opt-in.
Remesh rebuilds the topology of your model as clean quads. It changes your geometry, so Enfigure never turns it on by itself. The app may show “Remesh recommended” on the start card. The decision is yours.
When to use it
- The mesh has uneven triangles, noise or holes that make Fit or Rig fail.
- You want a clean quad mesh with a chosen level of detail.
Skip it when your model already has good topology.
Remesh a character
- On the start card, turn on Rebuild topology. Or choose the Remesh job to run only this stage. You can also use Tools > Remesh….
- Open the Remesh stage.
- Pick a detail level: Standard, High, Hero or Max. The quad count sets the level of detail.
- Optional: use the detail brush. More detail and Less detail paint where the mesh should be denser or coarser. Clear removes the brush.
- Press Remesh. A progress job runs in the job tray.
- Compare Before and After. Press Revert to go back, or Remesh again to try other settings. Cancel stops a running job.
Advanced holds the file and surface-noise options.
The undo label is “Remesh body”, so Cmd+Z reverts it too.
Garments and props
Garments have their own Clean up card in the Garment step (also opt-in). Props have a Remesh tab in Modify with Before / After and Revert. See Dressing a character.
